Lookup Mendocino County Inmate Records

Mendocino County inmate records are searched first through the county jail roster for current custody and recent booking information. A Mendocino County jail roster search can confirm whether someone is in the local jail, show booking and charge fields, and point to release or bond data when those fields are public. Older booking records, sentenced state prisoners, federal custody, and immigration detention use different channels, so a complete lookup follows the custody path instead of relying on one database.

Mendocino County Jail Roster Overview

The official Mendocino County inmate records portal is the Mendocino Sheriff Booking Log. It is a New World Systems inmate inquiry page used for the county jail. The research file found it free to use and not login-restricted. The search page says booking information is available for 30 days before the current date, and a current-custody query can be run by checking In Custody and choosing MENDOCINO COUNTY JAIL from the facility field.

The roster is best for people booked into the Mendocino County Jail. It does not show sentenced CDCR prison placement, federal BOP custody, ICE detainee records, or court-filed charges after the prosecutor acts. Use CDCR CIRIS for sentenced California custody, BOP Inmate Locator for federal custody, and ICE ODLS for immigration detention. For booking photos or records outside the roster window, use the sheriff's PRA route through NextRequest.

The booking log search page below shows why the roster is the main starting point for Mendocino County jail inmate records: it has a name field, subject and booking number fields, date fields, an In Custody checkbox, and a Housing Facility dropdown.

Because the roster has both booking-date and current-custody controls, a search for a person booked today differs from a search for a person still held after an older booking.

Use the Mendocino County Inmate Roster

A focused Mendocino County inmate records search starts with the fewest fields needed. The roster itself says not every field is required. Too many fields can hide a valid record when a name is misspelled, the date range is too narrow, or the person has multiple bookings.

  1. Open the official booking log URL from the sheriff's corrections resources.
  2. For a new booking, leave the date fields on the current date or enter a date range within the public window.
  3. For a current jail inmate, check In Custody and select MENDOCINO COUNTY JAIL if needed.
  4. Search by name first, then narrow with Subject Number or Booking Number when known.
  5. Click the linked name in the results table to open the inmate detail page.
  6. If no record appears, clear extra filters, widen the allowed date range, and check state, federal, or ICE locators if the person may have transferred.

Phone and counter channels still matter. The sheriff main and jail line is (707) 463-4411, sheriff records is (707) 463-4418, and dispatch is (707) 463-4086. Use phone contact for current-custody uncertainty, release timing, or routing questions, but not for legal advice.

Mendocino County Roster Search Fields

The roster search-field table is unusually useful because it shows the exact tools available to a reader before calling the jail. The Housing Facility field can separate the jail from ELSEWHERE, and the In Custody checkbox is the best current-jail filter.

Mendocino County Inmate Profile Fields

The sample booking profile inspected on May 31, 2026 showed demographic, booking, bond, and charge data. It did not show a mugshot. The detail page grouped data into demographic information and booking history, then included bond and charge tables when data was available.

The inspected sample inmate profile is represented in the screenshot below. It is useful because it shows the public fields a Mendocino County jail record can expose even when no booking photo is posted.

The public detail page should be read as a booking record, not as a final court case record. Filed charges and dispositions must be checked through the court system when they matter.

Mendocino County Booking Intake

After an arrest in Mendocino County, the arresting agency can transport the person to jail or temporary holding. If the person is booked at the county jail, intake creates or links a subject number, assigns a booking number, records the booking date and origin, enters demographic fields, and adds booking charges, bond fields, and custody status. The sample record showed Ukiah CHP as booking origin, which confirms the jail receives arrests from agencies beyond the sheriff's office.

The sheriff's corrections material says booking can take several hours. People arrested and booked are scheduled to appear in court within 72 hours, excluding weekends and public holidays. The jail does not release exact court date and time; the court clerk or the person's attorney is the proper source. Court releases may take two to four hours after return from court, and no releases occur from 2200 through 0830.

Mendocino County Jail Facilities

The local facility list matters because only one mapped facility is the full county jail roster facility. Parlin Fork is state prison camp custody, and the Coast Sector holding cells are temporary law-enforcement holding.

Older Mendocino County Inmate Records

Older booking records, incident reports, missing fields, and booking-photo requests should be routed through the sheriff's public records process and Mendocino County NextRequest. A strong request includes full name, date of birth if known, booking number, subject number, booking date, arresting agency or booking origin, and a clear description of the record sought. The sheriff PRA page also lists records contact information, but the research file notes direct records contact is limited for specified agencies and victims while general public requests go through NextRequest.

California Public Records Act access is not unlimited. Law-enforcement exemptions, Penal Code section 13300, juvenile confidentiality, victim or witness protections, medical privacy, and active investigation concerns can lead to redaction or denial. Court records are a separate path, and the court says its records request process cannot provide police reports or bench and arrest warrants.
